Karstenite is another name for the mineral anhydrite and not a valid name for a mineral.

Karstenite was named by Johann Friedrich Ludwig Hausmann in 1813 in honor of Dietrich Ludwig Gustav Karsten born
April 5, 1768 in Butzow, Mecklenburg, Germany; and died March 20, 1810 Berlin, Germany. Karsten was an official of the Prussian Mining Works and later mineralogist at the Mining Institute of Berlin.
