Fungus Colour Plates are small thumbnail images of mushrooms and other fungi with articles that can be found in the MIROFOSS database. The following table shows all of the CUP SHAPED fungi found in MIROFOSS organized vertically by shape characteristics. Clicking on a fungus plate image will bring you to the corresponding MIROFOSS article. Please note this page may take a while to load on slower computers or with slower internet connections. Cup, or saucer, shaped mushrooms grow on a variety of substrates, from rotting wood to soil or moss. Many cup-shaped mushrooms are very small, brightly coloured, and grow in large clusters. A small variety of larger cup-shaped mushrooms are darkly coloured and grow on the forest floor. Most cup-shaped mushrooms lack a stalk. |
